My humans used to love running, but in recent years they have gotten, well, lazy. With the exception of taking my brother and I for walks, they haven't done much else in the way of exercise aside from hauling 50 lb bags of flour for our dog treats.
What could possibly motivate them? Us adorable rescue dogs, of course!
Barley Labs is starting an initiative called "Racing for Rescues" and our first race is Durham's Great Human Race on Saturday, March 28. We'll be fundraising for Independent Animal Rescue (IAR), an all-volunteer organization that provides safe and responsible care for homeless, abandoned, and abused animals in the Triangle area. 100% of the money they raise goes directly to their rescue efforts.
We're pitching in the first $100 along with prizes for our donors and doggy bags for Team Barley Labs runners/walkers. Our goal is to raise a total of $1,000.
This whole Racing for Rescues idea is new so we'll be learning as we go, but we hope to make this a regular event for our little company.

Woofs & Love, pals!
