Dec 07, 2012 Tis the Season With the holiday season in full swing, many of us are running around trying to find the perfect gift for our loved ones. If any of your friends or family are animal lovers, consider making a donation to your local animal shelter in your loved one's name. APS of Durham offers you the opportunity to make a tribute gift on someone's behalf, and it's a great way to give a gift and help save a furry life. Additionally, they're also sponsoring a toy and food drive called Toys and Treats for Tails for the animals at their shelter. Finally, if you've done your homework and given it some serious consideration, maybe the gift you give to yourself and your family is a new pet. And maybe that pet is the APS Pet of the Week - Einstein. Name: Einstein Gender: Male Age: Young/unknown Personality: He’s spunky and like his namesake Albert, is curious about the world around him – maybe even a tad mischevious. Einstein is “game” for whatever, especially if it involves playing, petting, or fine-tuning his theory of relativity. He also enjoys any physics research that involves pouncing on things. I can’t promise that Einstein will help your kids with their math and science homework (though he might!), but he’d make a lovely, and energetic addition to the family lucky enough to take this little genius home. APS ID: 394467 Barley's thoughts: Genius, eh? Can you sit on command? Stay? Place? Heel? Hrmph. Just because you're super cute and look like you're about to say something extraordinarily deep and meaningful in that first picture above doesn't mean you're smarter than I am... Ok, fine. Let's call it a tie. We're both equally smart and adorable. I just hope there is someone out there smart enough to head over to APS of Durham to adopt you soon! Learn more about Einstein on the APS of Durham website or contact email@example.com. To view a list of other animals in need of a good home, visit the Adoptable Dogs and the Adoptable Cats sections of the APS of Durham website. Already have a pup and want to give him/her something for Christmas? Why not give him/her some Barley Labs dog treats! While I would love to believe that all Barley wants for Christmas is us, my guess is she'll take some delicious treats as well. Of course, she'll get her wish, but in the meantime, I will try to send subliminal messages through this fabulous rendition of "All I Want for Christmas Is You," featuring Mariah Carey, Jimmy Fallon, The Roots, some cute kids and toy instruments.
