  • APS Dog of the Week - Meghan

I'm feeling the need to celebrate this weekend. Why, you ask? Well, yesterday was my four year anniversary of the day my people adopted me, and I've been promised lots of treats. This weekend is set to be GORGEOUS, which means lots of walks and hanging out at doggy parks and bars with my people. And there will be an APS of Durham adoption event at PetSmart Patterson Place (3615 Witherspoon Blvd, Durham) on Sunday, March 10 from 2-3:30 p.m. Be sure to stop by so you can meet the Dog of the Week - Meghan!

    Name: Meghan

    Breed/Gender: Plott Hound/Pit Mix/Female

    Age: 6 months old

Personality: Very energetic and a little unfocused at first. However since she LOVES hotdog treats and is smart and attentive, she should be very rewarding to take to puppy class. Meghan is looking for a calm, patient home where she’ll have a consistent routine, lots of exercise and kind, positive training.

    APS Kennel: 40

Barley's thoughts: On Meghan's page, one of the volunteers told a story about walking with her:

Meghan was a great walker in the woods, very interested in what was around her. She was a little scared of the bikers and toddlers, but I’m sure more exposure would help that.

Listen, humans - bikes are WEIRD. Seriously, what the heck is up with that? I'm just strolling along, minding my own business, and all of a sudden this thing comes speeding up behind me. Totally unnatural. But for whatever reason, my people and my trainer also think more exposure is good so I have had to walk next to my pappy while he rides his bike. The good news is, I get lots of treats every time I do it. The bad news is, IT'S STILL WEIRD. Oh well, treats always win.
