Jun 27, 2013 Local Love: Dogs Love Books, Too Isn't Durham THE BEST? For those of you who follow us, you know how much I love Durham, but I just feel the need to say it again because of a kind gesture from a fellow business owner. If you're on 9th Street, love books AND dogs, then you should walk yourself (and your dog) right into Regulator Bookshop! While you're finding your next great read, you can give your dog a Barley Labs all-natural dog treat for being so patient and well-behaved while you shop. How did you end up getting treat samples in a bookstore, you ask? Well, a while back, my mama and pappy went to this awesome networking event sponsored by Sustain-a-Bull. There, they met Tom Campbell, co-owner of Regulator Bookshop. Tom said they often have customers who bring their dogs with them to the bookshop, and they also host events for books about dogs. He generously offered to keep samples of our treats at the shop. Thanks, Tom, for being so kind and helping us spread the word about our treats! And finally, don't forget that it's Smitten Kitten Season at APS of Durham! Regulator Bookshop actually just had an event highlighting cats who need forever homes, and APS still needs your help! For the month of June all adult cats have a reduced adoption fee of $5 and all kittens have an adoption fee of $30. (Adoption fees are normally $95.) All APS felines come fully loaded with vaccines, exam, one month complimentary pet health insurance, microchip, spay/neuter and lots of love! Check out the available cats online, including the APS Pet of the Week, Lucy! That's all we've got for this week, but be sure to keep an eye out for a fun announcement on Monday! Have a great weekend, everyone!
