  • APS Dog of the Week - Abigail

    Dear Rain,

While I appreciate all you do for us and the environment, could we maybe get a little break here? You may not know this, but I am a princess, and I HATE getting my paws wet (even though I love swimming...whatever...makes total sense).

    Woofs & Love, Barley

Even though it's dreary outside, July is still a great month because APS of Durham is still offering $50 adoption fees on pit bulls and pit mixes like this week's APS dog of the week - Abigail!

    Name: Abigail

    Breed/Gender: Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix/Female

    Age: 2 years old

Personality: Small-size, compact little dog who loves people and attention, and since she’s very, very interested in food treats, she should be fun and easy to train. She’s excellent with other dogs. Abigail will brighten the home of any family lucky enough to adopt her.

    APS Kennel: 8

Barley's thoughts: Ah yes, the tongue-licking-nose/smiling/ears-up pose -- that is a highly effective way to get treats/lovies/walkies/etc. Abigail, you my friend are one smart cookie. While those skills are helpful once you're with your fur-ever family, I have a feeling you won't need to use them much because your people won't be able to resist giving you whatever you need and want. If any of you awesome humans out there want to be those lucky people, go visit APS today!

Learn more about Abigail on the APS of Durham website. If you're interested in adopting Abigail, contact doginfo@apsofdurham.org. To view a list of other dogs in need of a good home, visit the Adoptable Dogs section of the APS Durham website.

Today is the last day to enter our Say Cheese photo contest!

To celebrate our new cheese flavor of Barley Labs All-natural Dog Treats, we want to reward your dog's best smile with a delicious prize through our Say Cheese photo contest! You could win three bags of dog treats, a t-shirt and a bottle opener! Learn more about the contest at www.barleylabs.com/saycheese
