Jul 19, 2013 APS Dog of the Week, New Retailers and More We've got some great stuff going on at Barley Labs! For our dog parents in Cary and Raleigh, our treats are now available at Animall and at Stuf 'N' Such at the Shops of Baileywick! Animall is a very cool concept -- they're a nonprofit retail store founded solely to help homeless animals find forever homes! From their website: At AniMall, animal rescue groups and potential adopters meet every day, and pet owners shop to find everything they need for their four-legged friends. And every purchase you make helps save homeless pets, as proceeds of all sales go directly to animal rescue. Stuf 'N' Such is also part of a very unique cluster of shops. From their website: Nestled in North Raleigh, Shops of Baileywick is home to over 65 boutiques overflowing with home accessories, furnishings, art, hostess gifts, antiques, NC pottery, garden accents, floral designs, pet accessories, children's gifts and much more. So if you're in Raleigh or Cary, please be sure to shop local and grab some of our dog treats! And now for your weekly dose of cute and awesome, check out the APS of Durham Dog of the Week! Name: Jada Breed/Gender: Pit mix/Female Age: 18 months old Personality: Jada had a rough start and was brought to APS as a cruelty/neglect case. Thanks to the excellent care of the APS medical team, Jada has made an incredible transformation and is almost unrecognizable as the same dog who arrived at the shelter almost 2 months ago. She’s a social, endearing girl who loves people, enjoys playing with her toys, and (not surprisingly!) is very food-motivated. Since she seems very uncomfortable around other dogs and goes out of her way to avoid them, she would be happiest as an only dog. Jada is looking for the loving family she deserves after all she’s been through. APS Kennel: 10 Barley's thoughts: My mama said Jada is adorable and clearly resilient. I made her help me use the Google again to define "resilient," and that is a perfect word for this strong girl. I don't know why anyone would hurt us doggy pals because all we really want and need is food, shelter, exercise and love; and in return, we give 1,000 times the love back. What I do know is I'm glad Jada made it to the nice people at APS, and the family who adopts her will be very lucky to have her. And don't forget, adoption fees for pits and pit mixes are only $50 during the month of July! Learn more about Jada on the APS of Durham website. If you're interested in adopting Jada, contact firstname.lastname@example.org. To view a list of other dogs in need of a good home, visit the Adoptable Dogs section of the APS Durham website.
