Our Guess is Cuteous Maximus Breed

On this dreary Friday (for those of you who live in the Triangle), I present to you a little sunshine...

This week's APS of Durham Pet of the Week Flora!

Name: Flora

Breed/Gender: Jack Russel Terrier-Hound Mix (best guess!) / Female

Age: 3-4 months old

APS Kennel: 35

Description: Perky, friendly and outgoing! She loves to play with her toys, is very attentive and food-motivated, and gets along with other puppies. Flora is looking for a loving family who’ll give her the time, attention and training all puppies need.

Barley's Thoughts: We rescue pups are often quite the mystery when it comes to our breed. The nice people at PAWS Chicago guessed that I am a Lab/Shepherd mix. Based on my ears (each of the two breeds fought an excellent battle but decided to call it a draw -- my ears both stand up and flop over a lot like Flora's do), size and shape, it seems like a pretty good guess. As far as Flora, my guess is Cuteous Maximus. Yes, that's a real breed (because I said so). Usually I have something snarky to say about really cute dogs because I believe I should be the only cutie in the world, but honestly, I got nothing. Flora is just too stinkin' adorable.

If you want to make Flora a part of your family, be sure to visit APS soon, or better yet go to their special event tomorrow at Tyler's Taproom (beer AND dogs...it's kind of our mantra around here). They'll have adoptable dogs, including Flora, at the Durham location (Saturday, November 2) from noon to 2 p.m.

Learn more about Flora on the APS of Durham website. If you're interested in adopting Flora, contact doginfo@apsofdurham.org. To view a list of other dogs in need of a good home, visit the Adoptable Dogs section of the APS Durham website.
